Family Vacation!!

As of this weekend Elliot is now three months old and the Bergin  family has successfully completed another first - our first family trip.  Friday, April 23rd we packed the Honda and headed to Cloudy, Oklahoma.  Deciding which items would make the trip took us all week,  but we felt confident in our decision to take the pack 'n play instead  of the all terrain stroller.  While we are not rushing to the car  dealership - we now understand the suv/minivan concept.

The car ride there was, in mom's opinion, fantastic.  Elliot fell  asleep before we got on the highway and did not wake up until we got  there.  We even stopped at the Dairy Queen between Paris and Hugo.   When we got to Cloudy it was raining, but it stopped shortly after we  got there and we were able to enjoy a beautiful weekend.

We spent a lot of time on the porch enjoying the view and the fresh  air.  We also took some short hikes and saw horses, snakes, and even a swarm of bees!! We had never seen a swarm before, but it was roughly a 40 foot by 40 foot wall of about 10,000 bees that sounded like a freight train coming toward us.  We all survived though without a single sting.

Thanks to Aunt Jennifer, Elliot had a great hat to protect her from the sun.  This was her first time to face forward in the bjorn.  Now, that is the only way she likes to face in the bjorn...she loves to see what's going on.

While Elliot did not seem to understand the significance,  Poppy and Gigi were soooo excited about her first horse ride.  Mommy was soooo nervous.  To clarify, it wasn't really a ride.  Poppy sat on Jake and held her for a minute.
