We have now been parents for 2 and 1/2 weeks. Seems like such a long time but also a very short time in the grand scheme of things.
Elliot update: She is healthy and back to her birth weight of 7 pounds, 10 ounces. Getting back to your birth weight in 2 weeks (like she did) is right on schedule. Let's see, she is 75th percentile in height but only 45th percentile in weight. So, she is tall and skinny like her dad. She is spending more time awake with her eyes open (quiet alertness is the textbook definition) which is fun because we get to see her being curious about the world and staring at unknown objects.
We are getting the hang of things and we generally know what Elliot is asking for. What you have heard about the "Witching Hour" is true though. Elliot is usually calm during the day but then has a spell in the evening where it is harder to soothe her and calm her down. It's odd, but she seems to save all of her poopy diapers till the evening too.

Jennifer Update: For those of you who don't know, Jennifer's c-section incision became infected. So, she has had to get her wound "packed". They first tried with gauze, then decided it was too big and they sent us to a Wound Clinic to get it treated. The Wound Clinic is actually pretty good because they know what they are doing and they do it well. Now, Jennifer is hooked up to a Wound Vac which uses negative pressure to remove the wound fluid and speed up the healing process. She still will need to carry the Wound Vac (the small black purse she has been looking for) for a month, but she is feeling better every day and we are all thankful of that. We are also thankful because even though the dressings need to get changed 3 times a week, we can have people come to our house for 2 of those days.
Everyone is looking good in the pictures. Looking forward to seeing you again. Your Mom
